2020 Team Drydene Highlights: Ricky Weiss’ first World of Outlaws win
This month, we’re taking a look back at all the memorable Team Drydene moments from a very memorable 2020. In no particular order, we’ll celebrate the highlights. From dirt to asphalt to virtual (and everything in between), we hope you enjoy our look back!
Our first highlight seems like a lifetime ago: Ricky Weiss‘ first World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series win! For Ricky, the 2020 season got off to a hot start. Ricky’s first win came during the very first weekend of scheduled racing as part of the Battle of the Border at Vado Speedway Park.
During night two at Vado, Ricky got the win in impressive fashion. He pulled off a great move on fellow Team Drydene teammate Chris Madden to get the lead on lap 14. He never looked back, despite some stiff competition. Ricky held off eventual season champ Brandon Sheppard and navigated tough lapped traffic as well.
Ricky earned one more Outlaws win in 2020. His consistent and strong year eventually earned him a career-best second in the series points battle.
